Expert Seminar at IR/INFO 2014
For immediate release
Attorney Robert J. Incollingo will be presenting at IR/INFO 2014, to be held January 19 – 22, 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana. IR/INFO is the annual forum for information exchange in the thermographic, NDT, and P/PM realms, hosted by Infraspection Institute, the undisputed leader in infrared thermographic education and training. Mr Incollingo will present “Thermography Process Patents – 2014 Update,” a short course designed for in-house and contract thermographers and intended for anyone wishing to better understand the laws and regulations concerning method and process patents.
Course Abstract: Whoever invents or discovers a new and useful process or method for using an infrared thermographic camera, or any new and useful improvement of such a method, may obtain a patent from the U.S. Government for it, subject to the conditions and requirements of the Federal patent laws, regulations, policies and procedures. A thermography method/process patent, like any other, can be enforced by patent infringement litigation. The laws and regulations concerning method and process patents recently advanced with the implementation of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (a.k.a. the “Patent Reform Act of 2011”). This short course provides a brief overview of the legal concepts involved in the grant of method and process patents, the defense of those patents, and an update on recent changes in the relevant law.
Mr. Incollingo has been an invited speaker at IR/INFO since 2001.
